The upcoming Gainbridge Super League 2026 Fall Season kicks off August 15 and the schedule for the 56 match regular season just dropped.
Here are eight matches that should be circled on your calendar:
August 15: DC Power FC vs. Carolina Ascent FC
DC Power will kick off the new season against a team they have never beaten – Carolina Ascent. In the eight meetings all time between the two teams, Carolina has an overall record of 6-2-0 and held the Power scoreless in their last three meetings in the past campaign. DC showed promise while coming up just short of a postseason berth last season, this is an opportunity for the side to make a statement against an Ascent side that will be considered a frontrunner for the title.
September 11: Lexington SC vs. Carolina Ascent FC
Lexington SC and Carolina Ascent FC put on a show in June’s Final as Lexington claimed a 3-1 victory in extra time at Lexington SC Stadium. The sides will square off at the same venue for their first meeting of the sprint season with Lexington aiming to build on their past season’s success and Ascent looking to claim a small piece of payback. With the fall season’s short format, this game could be crucial when it comes to the Players’ Shield and postseason seeding.
September 12: Tampa Bay Sun FC vs. Fort Lauderdale United FC
Having contested the first Gainbridge Super League Final in 2025, the past campaign brought both Tampa Bay Sun FC and Fort Lauderdale United FC back down to earth, leaving both to bounce back after finishing at the bottom of the table. This contest marks Tampa Bay’s home opener in the sprint season, and the Sun will be looking to maintain their upper hand against FTL UTD – including their victory in the 2025 Super League Final, Tampa Bay has never lost to Fort Lauderdale, going 4-0-5 in their nine prior meetings.
September 25: Lexington SC vs. Dallas Trinity FC
Dallas Trinity FC was one of three teams to defeat Lexington SC during the 2025/26 regular season, but despite a valiant effort to rally Trinity was unable to overcome Lexington when the sides met in the playoffs. This summer could be a transformative one for Dallas as Head Coach Nathan Thackeray looks to make his mark on the club’s roster build. The first meeting between the teams since the postseason should be a good measure for how far Trinity has come as it visits the defending champions.
October 23: Lexington SC vs. Sporting Club Jacksonville
Lexington SC squeaked past Sporting Club Jacksonville on goal differential to claim the 2025/26 Players Shield after the sides had played three epic contests during the regular season, with LSC’s 2-1 win in late April eventually pivotal in the battle for silverware. The sides meet with just over a month to go this regular season, too, in a game that could be just as crucial with Sporting JAX aiming to knock off the defending champions on their home turf.
November 11: DC Power FC vs. Brooklyn FC
Both Brooklyn FC and DC Power FC have had their moments over the first two campaigns in the Gainbridge Super League but lacked the consistency to reach the postseason. This sprint season offers a chance for either to be a surprise package, and by the time we get to the final month of the regular season this midweek clash at Audi Field, we’ll have a good idea as to whether either side has delivered, with the Power holding a narrow 3-2-2 advantage in the all-time series.
November 21: Sporting Club Jacksonville vs. Carolina Ascent FC
Sporting Club Jacksonville was on the verge of claiming the Players’ Shield going into the final day of the past regular season, only for Carolina Ascent to spoil the potential party and then bring Jacksonville’s inaugural season to an end the following weekend in the Semifinals of the Playoffs. The two sides could be in very similar positions going to the penultimate weekend of the new schedule, meaning the stakes for this showdown could be very high.
November 28: Fort Lauderdale United FC vs. DC Power FC
For the first time, the Gainbridge Super League will feature a true Decision Day on the final day of the regular season, with all four games kicking off at 6 p.m. ET. One of the games to keep a close eye on should be Fort Lauderdale United FC hosting DC Power FC, which should offer plenty of entertainment. Last season the sides met twice in April. Those two contests featured two of the four highest combined Expected Goals marks in the league all season as the sides racked up 62 combined shots and 24 combined shots on goal. If both teams are in contention for a playoff place, it will only ramp up the potential.
