As the start of the 2026 Gainbridge Super League Fall season gets closer, teams are starting to make some exciting player announcements. This week, Sporting JAX announced four new additions, including an intraleague move.
Coming off a historic inaugural season, Sporting JAX has only bolstered their already strong team with the signing of defenders Ginger Fontenot and Keeley Dockter, goalkeeper Grace Poorbaugh, and forward AJ Hennessey before the start of their team’s second season.
Ginger Fontenot, Defender
Fontenot, 23, is a defender from Ventura, Calif., who will further reinforce a strong Sporting JAX back line while also helping in the attack. Fontenot should be no stranger to Gainbridge Super League fans, most recently spending the 2025/26 season with Spokane Zephyr FC. The defender made 19 starts in 24 appearances, scoring two goals along with two assists. She also recorded 18 tackles, 22 clearances and 11 interceptions.
Aside from three meetings between Sporting JAX and Spokane last season, Fontenot has an existing connection with her new team. While at the University of Pennsylvania, she was teammates with Sporting JAX star Paige Kenton, who burst onto the scene in 2025/26 with 10 goals and seven assists.
Keeley Dockter, Defender
Before kicking off her professional career with the Seattle Reign FC in the NWSL, Dockter acted as a crucial member of the University of Portland’s back line with 64 starts in 69 appearances and 5,411 minutes of action. She also produced three goals and two assists for the Pilots, including two game-winning goals. During her redshirt senior year, she led a defense that conceded just 12 goals, the second fewest in the West Coast Conference and the 17th fewest in the nation during the 2025 season. Her achievements that season earned her All-West Coast Conference First Team, United Soccer Coaches All-West Region First Team, and WCC Defensive Player of the Year honors. Dockter also played for Salmon Bay in the USL W League.
Grace Poorbaugh, Goalkeeper
Poorbaugh, a fourth-generation Penn State alumna, played all five seasons of her collegiate career with the Nittany Lions before being invited to preseason camp with the NWSL’s Racing Louisville FC in January 2026. Her career at Penn State saw her record 1,238 minutes in 21 appearances, a .65 goals against average, and a save percentage of 82.4%. Poorbaugh also earned the 2026 TST Women’s Golden Glove award at The Soccer Tournament as she led her team, Simply Fútbol FC, to a championship game appearance which helped her also earn the TST’s Keeper Wars accolade. Poorbaugh also previously played for Minnesota Aurora FC in the USL W League.
AJ Hennessey, Forward
Hennessey, 21, is a forward from Norco, Calif. who represents another attacking threat for Sporting JAX. A successful collegiate career at Texas Christian University saw her record 14 goals and 14 assists across 4,736 minutes played. While this will be Hennessey’s professional debut, it is not her first experience with a professional club. Earlier this year, Hennessey received a Preseason Camp Invite from Denver Summit FC of the NWSL, providing valuable experience for a newcomer to the pro ranks.
