Concacaf W Qualifying concludes this weekend as teams vie to advance to the final stage of qualifying for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup with players from across the Gainbridge Super League set to be part of the action on the international stage.
Here are the Gainbridge Super League players to follow and the storylines entering the weekend’s action, as well as where you can tune in for the action.
Friday, April 17
Haiti vs. Dominican Republic, 8 p.m. ET (Paramount+)
Players – Haiti: Claire Constant (DC); Dominican Republic: Kat Gonzalez (FTL)
Top spot in Group D is on the line as Haiti and the Dominican Republic square off with Haiti sitting in prime position with three wins out of three so far in the group stage. DC Power’s Claire Constant scored in the side’s 5-0 victory last Thursday night against Anguilla, which jumped Haiti past the Dominican Republic in the group standings. Fort Lauderdale United’s Kat Gonzalez also found the net against Anguilla for the Dominican Republic in the last international window. DR needs to take victory to advance as the teams meet in Guadeloupe to close the group stage, with Haiti advancing with a win or a draw.
Saturday, April 18
Jamaica vs. Guyana, 8 p.m. ET (Paramount+)
Players – Jamaica: Sydney Schneider (TB)
With three wins out of three, Jamaica and Tampa Bay Sun FC goalkeeper Sydney Schneider have put themselves in position to advance out of Group B as they host Guyana on Saturday night at the National Stadium in Kingston. Jamaica took a crucial 3-2 victory against Nicaragua on March 2 in the past window and now just needs a point against Guyana to advance to the next stage.
Mexico vs. Puerto Rico, 8 p.m. ET (Paramount+)
Players – Puerto Rico: Jill Aguilera (CAR), Sydney Martinez (CAR), Christina Roque (JAX), Maria Tapia (CAR), Jaydah Bedoya (DC)
The Super League’s Puerto Rican quintet – and Sporting Jacksonville W League signing Camila Adame – faces its biggest game of the group stage as it heads to Toluca to face Mexico with first place in Group A on the line. Both El Tri and El Huracan Azul have taken three wins out of three so far in the group stage with Mexico holding a four-goal advantage in goal differential. That means Puerto Rico – ranked No. 77 in the current FIFA Women’s Rankings – must take victory against Mexico – ranked No. 28 – to advance and produce a major upset in qualifying.
