
TAMPA, Fla. – The Gainbridge Super League today announced the Team of the Month for February, with Sporting Club Jacksonville goalkeeper Kaitlyn Parks named Player of the Month after a stellar month between the sticks.
Parks recorded 10 saves and a save percentage of 90.9% across four games, including a three-save shutout in Jacksonville’s 3-0 victory away at Lexington SC that moved the side four points clear in the Gainbridge Super League standings on February 21.
The 24-year-old also posted three shutouts, conceding only once in the month, and logged a -0.94 Goals Prevented mark, helping lead Sporting Jax to three wins in four outings.
GK: Kaitlyn Parks, Sporting Club Jacksonville – Parks logged 10 saves at a save percentage of 90.9% and posted a -0.94 Goals Prevented mark, recording three shutouts in four games to help Jacksonville to three victories in four outings over the month.
D: Allison Pantuso, Lexington SC – Pantuso put together an impressive month, winning eight tackles at an 88.9% success rate, winning 18 duels at a 66.7% success rate and completing 156 passes at an 85.7 percent accuracy rate.
D: Georgia Brown, Sporting Club Jacksonville – The Scottish international led all players with 248 completed passes at a 91.2% accuracy rate – first among players with at least 100 completed passes – and ranked first in clearances (36) while finding the net against Spokane Zephyr FC.
D: Sydney Studer, Carolina Ascent FC – Studer recorded a pair of goals in Ascent’s victory against Dallas and had a strong all-around month, ranking second in the league in both clearances (31) and duels won (27) while posting a 69.2% success rate in the latter category.
D: Amber Wisner, Dallas Trinity FC – Wisner was sterling throughout the month, ranking second in the league with 193 completed passes at an 86.9% accuracy rate while also winning 4 of 4 tackles, 14 duels at a 58.3% success rate and recording four blocked shots.
M: Sophia Braun, Spokane Zephyr FC – The Argentine international won 24 duels at a 66.7% success rate and won 6 of 8 tackles while also recording 16 clearances and 11 recoveries across three appearances ahead of a call-up to represent her country at the SheBelieves Cup.
M: Wayny Balata, Dallas Trinity FC – The Canadian midfielder recorded one goal, one assist and four chances created in a strong two-way month that also saw Balata complete 113 passes at an 86.9% accuracy rate and win nine tackles at an 81.8% success rate.
M: Ashlyn Puerta, Sporting Club Jacksonville – The Golden Boot leader led all players with three assists in the month while also recording 26 recoveries and winning 18 duels at a 60% success rate, helping Jacksonville to three wins in four contests.
F: Sydny Nasello, Tampa Bay Sun FC – Nasello recorded three goals in three outings, averaging a goal every 82.7 minutes, while putting all five of her shots in the month on target. She also notched 13 recoveries defensively.
F: Lena Silano, Spokane Zephyr FC – Silano scored two goals in three appearances, including leading Zephyr to victory on the road against Carolina Ascent, while recording nine shots overall at a 55.6% accuracy rate and winning 15 duels.
F: Cat Barry, Lexington SC – Barry recorded two goals, one assist and six chances created in three appearances while also winning 16 duels at a 53.3% success rate and logging 11 recoveries.
Coach: Stacey Balaam, Sporting Club Jacksonville – Balaam’s side took three wins in four contests, including coming out victorious in a top-two clash at Lexington SC, while the side led the league with seven goals and a 7.53 Expected Goals mark over the month.
