
TAMPA, Fla. – The Gainbridge Super League today announced the Team of the Month for April, with Lexington SC forward Catherine Barry named Player of the Month after leading the league with five goals to move past the previous single-season goalscoring record and help guide her side into the postseason.
An offseason addition, Barry has become the centerpiece of Lexington’s new-look attack, helping propel the side to a 29-point improvement with two games remaining in the regular season. The 24-year-old had a standout April, recording five goals and one assist in four appearances while averaging a goal every 66 minutes and recording a 50 percent shot conversion rate.
Barry’s five goals took her to 15 tallies so far this season, surpassing the Gainbridge Super League’s single-season record of 13 goals set by Dallas Trinity FC’s Allie Thornton in the 2024/25 campaign. With two games to play, and Lexington remaining in contention for the Players’ Shield, Barry is also tied for the league lead with 19 goal contributions in a standout all-around campaign.

GK: Sydney Martinez, Carolina Ascent FC – The Puerto Rico international recorded 16 saves at a save percentage of 88.9%, recording two shutouts and conceding only twice in four appearances to post a -2.44 Goals Prevented mark, the lowest among the Super League’s goalkeepers for the month.
D: Jill Aguilera, Carolina Ascent FC – The Puerto Rico international recorded two goals and one assist while putting in sterling work in the defensive end, winning 12 duels at a 70.6% success rate and recording nine recoveries and 15 clearances for Ascent.
D: Amber Wisner, Dallas Trinity FC – The veteran scored a pair of goals in the month and ranked second in the league with 30 clearances while completing 185 of 240 passes, fourth-most in the league, and winning 5 of 6 tackles and 28 duels at a 63.6% success rate.
D: Alyssa Bourgeois, Lexington SC – The 23-year-old ranked second in the league for the month with 33 duels won at a 67.4% success rate while notching one assist and seven chances created and completing 129 of 170 passes.
D: Grace Phillpotts, Sporting Club Jacksonville – The 23-year-old led outfield players with 32 recoveries in the month while winning 8 of 8 tackles and 20 duels at a success rate of 52.6 percent while also notching eight interceptions and five chances created.
M: Sophia Boman, Sporting Club Jacksonville – The 24-year-old notched two goals in four appearances over the month while completing 131 of 171 passes and ranking fifth in the league with nine chances created as Jacksonville clinched its postseason berth and moved closer to the Players’ Shield.
M: Emma Jaskaniec, Spokane Zephyr FC – The 24-year-old scored one goal in three appearances and logged four shots and three chances created overall to help Spokane remain in contention for a postseason berth while winning five tackles, six recoveries and four interceptions.
M: Sam Kroeger, Brooklyn FC – The 24-year-old recorded two assists and five chances created while completing 62 of 84 passes, recording 23 recoveries, four interceptions and winning 11 duels at a 55 percent success rate over the month.
M: Emily Colton, DC Power FC – Colton recorded one assist and tied for third in the league with 10 chances created to play a role in DC Power’s attacking success while completing 124 of 151 passes overall and recording 22 recoveries defensively in four appearances.
F: Catherine Barry, Lexington SC – The 24-year-old led the league with five goals in four appearances over the month, moving to a single-season record 15 tallies, and also notched one assist while recording 12 shots overall and averaging a goal every 66 minutes.
F: Loza Abera, DC Power FC – The Ethiopian international recorded three goals and one assist, averaging a goal every 112.7 minutes in four appearances to push the Power into contention for the final postseason berth.
Coach: Philip Poole, Carolina Ascent FC – Poole earned his second consecutive monthly award after leading Ascent to a second consecutive undefeated month in which the side took victories in all four games while posting while posting a +4-goal differential.
