Throughout the 2025/26 Gainbridge Super League season, goalkeepers from across the league had a total of 715 saves. Those saves were vital to their teams’ defense on the pitch, but they also translated to big money for local charities across the Gainbridge Super League ecosystem.
At the beginning of the season, Gainbridge℠ and soccer legend Briana Scurry teamed up and committed to making a $99 donation for each save a goalkeeper made in every match. Throughout the season, the Gainbridge Savings Tracker kept a live tally of the number of saves. In total, those 715 saves added up to more than $70,000, which Gainbridge® generously rounded up to $99,000.
“Transforming communities where we work, live and partner is a core principle for Gainbridge, ” said Mike Nichols, Gainbridge Chief of Sponsorship Strategy and Activation. “Savings is what the business of Gainbridge does so we knew this season we wanted to attach the number of saves to a platform to make a difference in the communities around the league. We’re excited to round up the Gainbridge Savings Tracker to $99,000 and award 10 charities a check for $9,900 with the hope of making meaningful impact.”
With the regular season now over, the money raised will be split evenly among all Gainbridge Super League clubs’ charities of choice, as well as this year’s Gainbridge Golden Glove winner’s charity of choice.
Charities benefiting from the Gainbridge Savings Tracker include:
- The Spring of Tampa Bay (Tampa Bay Sun)
- Spokane Impact FC (Spokane Zephyr)
- North Texas Food Bank (Dallas Trinity)
- Special Olympics DC (DC Power)
- Brooklyn Org (Brooklyn FC)
- Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina & Nourish Up (Carolina Ascent)
- Corner at Deb’s (Sporting JAX)
- Y Weston (Fort Lauderdale United)
- God’s Pantry Food Bank (Lexington SC)
- Charity of Golden Glove Winner Kat Asman’s choice
The $99 per save was a tribute to Scurry and her sport-defining run with the U.S. Women’s National Team at the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup. She spent her legacy protecting the goal, and today, she’s focused on protecting her financial future with Gainbridge®.
“I’m continuously blown away at what Gainbridge does for the players in the Gainbridge Super League and also the communities that are so supportive of the clubs,” said Scurry, who is also a Gainbridge Brand Ambassador. “I was honored that they chose to celebrate our 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup win by donating $99 per save made this season. And now to see that Gainbridge is rounding up to $99,000 and knowing all the good that the money is going to do in the local markets is a wonderful feeling.”
A check presentation will take place during the Gainbridge Super League final on May 30.
