Sporting JAX Stays Undefeated as DC Power Makes Its Move – Power Rankings

The top of the Gainbridge Super League table remains unchanged after Week 4, but the gap is beginning to close behind Sporting JAX. DC Power FC took a point from the league leaders, while Carolina Ascent FC and Dallas Trinity FC earned bounce-back wins of their own. 

Here’s how the eight teams stack up heading into Week 5.

3		Tampa Bay Sun FC (1-1-1) Week 5: vs. FTL	Last Week: 3	The Sun enter their home opener on Saturday with plenty of momentum after earning their first win of the season against Carolina a couple of weeks ago. Sydny Nasello has been at the heart of that early success, earning consecutive Player of the Week honors and a place on the August Team of the Month alongside teammates Shea Connors and Taylor Chism.
4		Carolina Ascent FC (3-1-0) Week 5: @ LEX	1 Last Week: 5	Carolina bounced back emphatically, scoring three times in the first half to earn its first home win of the season. The Ascent continue to get more from their chances than their shot volume would suggest, ranking second in the league with 6.63xG while averaging 0.15xG per shot.
5		Dallas Trinity FC (1-2-1) Week 5: vs. DC	2 Last Week: 7	Dallas’ attacking adjustment paid immediate dividends in Lee Nguyen’s first win as head coach, with Trinity scoring three times against Brooklyn. Seven Castain’s move into a central attacking role helped create space for Jasmine Hamid, who recorded a game-high nine touches inside the box.
6		Lexington SC (1-1-0) Week 5: vs. CAR	2 Last Week: 4	Lexington got a chance to reset after a bye week following its first loss of the season to DC Power. Friday’s Super League Final rematch with Carolina offers the defending champions an opportunity to respond against the team they defeated in last season’s final.
7		Fort Lauderdale United FC (1-2-0) Week 5: @ TB	1 Last Week: 6	Fort Lauderdale was unable to add to its first win of the season as it fell on the road to a strong Carolina Ascent lineup. The bigger concern is the lack of attacking production, with FTL UTD still looking for a way to consistently turn possession and pressure into quality chances, averaging 9.7 shots and a league-fewest 0.84 Expected Goals per 90 minutes.
8		Brooklyn FC (0-4-0) Week 5: vs. JAX	Last Week: 8	Brooklyn has now become the first team in Super League history to lose its opening four games in a season. The 3-0 defeat to Dallas also extended a difficult stretch in front of goal for BKFC, which has scored only once while averaging 0.93 Expected Goals per 90 minutes.
