Fort Lauderdale, FL – Fort Lauderdale United FC announced on Tuesday the signing of defender Julia Grosso for the remainder of the 2024/25 USL Super League season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.
Grosso began her professional career abroad with Melbourne City FC, appearing in 37 matches and recording two goals and three assists. She earned 2022-23 A-League Player of the Year honors as a rookie along with a 2023-24 Premiers title, finishing atop of the A-League Women’s table that season. Grosso returns to her home state after a stint with the NWSL’s Utah Royals FC in 2024.
Grosso played collegiately for the University of Kentucky from 2017-2022. The defender finished her five seasons with the Wildcats with 84 appearances, 5754 minutes played, four goals and two assists. She captained the team her final two seasons and was named to the 2021 SEC Preseason Watch List.
